Petropolis Guided Tour
Petropolis Guided Tour
At 10 am we'll meet outside the Casa Santos Dumont Museum. There we'll start a guided tour of Petrópolis that will take us through the streets of the city while we discover its history.
Have you heard of Santos Dumont? We'll visit this museum to learn more about the man known as the father of Brazilian aviation. There we'll see the personal objects of this important inventor and engineer, such as books or letters.
Afterwards, we'll go to the Liberty Garden, one of the most charming places in Petropolis. We'll stroll along its path full of umbrellas, an ideal place to take pictures, and we'll approach a chocolate factory to learn about its products.
We'll continue our tour walking along Koeler Avenue, where we'll see the beautiful mansions that tell the story of the city's colonial past. Did you know that this street was originally called D. Afonso? We'll find out why! The next stop will be at the Cathedral of São Pedro de Alcântara, the most important temple of Petrópolis. We'll admire its imposing façade and tour its interior full of hidden gems.
After discovering the many fascinating facts of the cathedral, we'll go to Casa Petropolis and, to end the tour on a high note, we'll visit one of the most iconic places in the city – the Imperial Museum. There we'll learn all about this residence, which was the former summer palace of Dom Pedro II.
After three hours, we'll conclude the tour at the entrance of the Imperial Museum.
