Lamego Trip
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and make our way towards Lamego, one of northern Portugal's most beautiful historic cities.
As soon as we arrive, we'll embark on a walking tour of Lamego's historic centre to discover its best monuments. First of all, we'll admire the façade of Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral, a stunning gothic temple located in the town centre.
Next, we'll stroll through the narrow medieval streets and head to the Igreja de Santa Maria de Almacave. Did you know that this is where the Cortes of Lamego used to meet? Afterwards, we'll continue walking to the Castle of Lamego. As we walk around the outside of the castle, we'll learn about the history of this medieval bastion, which is located in a strategic position.
After discovering the fortification's history, we'll continue the tour in front of the emblematic Santuário de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios. We'll admire its characteristic 18th-century rococo architecture. Did you know that this is a popular place to take wedding photos?
Finally, we'll go to a wine bar for a glass of sparkling wine from Lamego (those under age will have juice). From here we'll return to your hotel, where we'll arrive 4 hours after pickup.
