Perugia Private Tour
The tour will meet at Piazza Italia and walk to the Rocca Paolina, an imposing Renaissance fortress. We'll spend 30 minutes wandering through its stone tunnels until we reach the heart of the city, located on a hill at 450 metres (1470 feet) above sea level.
Once we arrive in Perugia's historic centre, we'll stop at one of the many cafes in the area to enjoy an Italian espresso, a cappuccino or a hot chocolate. Remember that this region is known for its high quality chocolate, so this stop may be worthwhile.
The tour will continue on to see the most popular corners of the city, and any other points of interest that call your attention, including the famous via dell'Acquedotto, one of the most famous streets in Perugia because of its aqueduct. We'll also see the walls and some of the many monumental arches in the city, such as the Augustus Arch, the oldest of them.
Next, we'll stop in front of the Fontana Maggiore, considered to be one of the most beautiful fountains in Italy. Located in Piazza IV Novembre, the 750-year old fountain stands out for its 24 intricate sculptures including the combination of elements from the Bible, the zodiac and the history of Rome.
The tour will end with a glimpse of the other buildings that line Piazza IV Novembre, including the cathedral and Palazzo dei Priori, after two hours discovering the unique city.
