Soak up the natural beauty of Colombia while exercising and contributing to the preservation of the environment on this excursion to La Virginia and El Guásimo from Pereira.
La Virginia & El Guásimo Excursion
We'll pick you up at 7:30 am at your hotel in Pereira and set off in the direction of La Virginia, located 35 kilometers away.
On the way, we'll first stop at the El Guásimo Natural Reserve, which occupies 1,400 hectares of the Cauca River Valley. Here, we'll go on a three-hour walk along the nature trail that runs through the park.
Once we reach the Cauca River, we'll follow its course for an hour, crossing the lush vegetation of the dry tropical forest. Did you know that this is the only forest of its kind in the Andean region? That is why the park's work is so important, as it protects the 400 hectares of dry Andean forest.
As we make our way through the park, we'll be able to see the great diversity of flora and fauna of this protected area. A visit that perfectly combines sport, nature and environmental preservation!
During the tour, we'll also take a break for lunch consisting of a regional dish and a drink. Then, we'll complete the journey to La Virginia, a picturesque town bathed by the Cauca and Risaralda rivers where we'll learn about its main attractions, as well as some local legends and traditions.
Finally, we'll return to Pereira and drop you off at your hotel around 1:30 pm.
