At the designated time, we'll meet in front of Hotel Movich de Pereira and, once we've all arrived, we'll make our way to Villa Claudia, where this fun workshop will take place. Let's go!
Firstly, we'll walk towards Olaya Herrera Park and hop on the Megacable, Pereira's cable car, that will transport us to the station where a Willys awaits us. In this typical vehicle of Colombia's coffee region, we'll travel about 25 minutes to the finca.
Once we've arrived at Villa Claudia, its hosts will greet us with delicious and frothy chocolate with an arepa and cheese. While we have breakfast, we'll listen to the caretakers of the estate, who will tell us about their sustainable practices and how they live in harmony with nature and the animals.
Having re-energised, we'll move on to the first stage of preparing Campesino Cheese, a cheese native to Colombia known for being moist, fresh, and soft. In this stage, you'll learn all the facts and figures about this highly-consumed product in the country.
Afterwards, during the cheese's resting stage, we'll visit the finca's surroundings to gain a deep understanding of the work that each of its workers does. At noon, we'll sit down for a homestyle lunch: sancocho, a soup made with meat and vegetables.
After our meal, we'll weigh the cheese we made ourselves and package it with organic coverings so we can take them home with us. What better souvenir than one you've made yourself?
Lastly, 5 hours after beginning the workshop, we'll say our goodbyes at our original meeting point.
