The Avocado Tour
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Pereira to start this tour in which we'll learn many curiosities about the avocado culture in South America.
Did you know that Colombia is one of the main producers and exporters of avocados and that up to 5 different varieties are grown here?
The tour will start at an agroecological farm, where the farmers will take us to the avocado plantations of the Hass variety, which are originally from California and are known to be the creamiest variety. You'll be happy to know that these crops have the certificate of Good Environmental Practices!
We'll also learn about other varieties grown in Colombia, such as Papelillo, Santana, Semil, or Choquette, and you'll have the opportunity to try them with an avocado tasting!
And, as the finishing touch, we'll participate in a guacamole workshop! We'll learn how to make this delicious avocado-based dip in the traditional way. Of course, at the end of the class, we'll get to taste the guacamole we've prepared.
Finally, we'll take you back to Pereira and drop you off at your hotel at 2 pm.
