Castellón la Plana Day Trip
We'll leave at 8:30 am from the Peñíscola Tourist Office and take the minibus to Castellón de la Plana. The journey will take just over an hour.
Firstly, we'll visit the area known as El Grao de Castellón. Here we'll begin to get to know the city's deep-rooted seafaring traditions while also being able to enjoy the views of the lighthouse, the fishing port and its marina, complete with modernist style houses, all spread along the coastal district.
Afterwards, we'll head towards the historic centre of Castellón de la Plana and visit the Museum of Fine Arts. Valencian ceramics, oil paintings from Zurbarán's workshop, sculptures and much more await us.
After the museum visit, we'll make our way over to the Monday market, with its more than 300 open-air stalls. Ready to relax with some retail therapy?
The following stops will show us the important monumental legacy of the city. We'll visit the Cathedral of Santa María la Mayor and learn about its fascinating history - a terrible fire and the Spanish Civil War have left their mark on this important building. Next to the church is the El Fadrí bell tower, which is almost 60 metres high!
The day trip will finish back at Peñíscola, at 2 pm.
