Join us on this day trip to immerse yourself in authentic Colombian indigenous culture. We'll spend the day getting to know one of the most ancient ethnic groups in Colombia on our visit to the Inga community in Sibundoy.
Visit to an Inga Community in Sibundoy
We'll meet at 7:30 am next to the statue of Antonio Nariño and set off for an exciting day trip to Sibundoy.
As we get further away from the Amazon rainforest, we'll pass through Andean mountain ranges. Finally, we'll arrive at the Sibundoy Valley, located in the northwest part of the Putumayo region. When we get there, we'll visit an Inga or Camsá community, an indigenous ethnic group characteristic of this area of Colombia.
The members of the tribe will teach us about their culture and traditions, showing us around their village and dwellings. We'll also learn about traditional medicine, knowledge of which has been passed down from generation to generation.
We'll find out about the basic principles of the Andean worldview as seen by the Ingas, and we'll take a tour of the chagras, small indigenous cultivation plots.
At noon, we'll enjoy a healthy lunch made from local products and crops, and in the afternoon we'll attend a harmonizing spiritual ceremony, which will leave you feeling totally renewed.
Finally, we'll get back in the vehicle and return to the original meeting point in Pasto, where we'll arrive at around 5:30 pm.
