On this coffee tour we'll discover the aromas and flavours of the department of Nariño with a tasting of different types of coffee, one of the most consumed beverages in the world.
Nariño Coffee Tour
At the selected time, we'll meet next to the monument of Antonio Nariño, from where we'll leave towards the heart of the department of the same name, surrounding its mountain range.
The climate in this region of southwestern Colombia is varied, given the diversity of altitudes, which favours the terrain for crops, including coca leaves and coffee. Nariño's rural families, many of them displaced due to armed conflict, plant and care for the coffee plantations, one of the country's star products.
We'll drive through the mountains of Nariño while admiring the extensive coffee plantations and, after a 15-minute drive, we'll arrive at a coffee processing laboratory. Here we'll learn how one of the most consumed beverages in the world is made, from bean to cup.
Afterwards, we'll go to a local coffee shop, where we'll enjoy a tasting of Nariño coffees brewed through three different processes. You'll learn to recognise each one by its aroma and flavour!
Finally, we'll return to Pasto and leave you at the departure point three hours after the start of the tour.
