Come and see one of the largest and most spectacular lakes in Colombia, on this excursion to La Cocha lagoon. A place of incredible beauty. You'll love it!
Lake Cocha Tour
We'll meet at the Plaza de Nariño at 9 am, from where we'll leave following the road to the department of Putumayo, where the lake of La Cocha is located. We'll arrive at our destination after approximately a 40-minute journey. Did you know that it's the second largest lake in Colombia after the lake of Tota?
We'll walk through this area of great natural beauty as we learn about the glacial origins of this impressive lake. We'll then walk through the village of El Puerto, a route that passes through the beautiful Swiss-inspired wooden houses built around the lake.
Our next stop will be at a farm, where the family that lives there will give us a tour of this self-sustainable 'hacienda' or estate, showing us their orchards and organic crops, and their guinea pig farms. After the tour, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch made from the farm's fresh produce!
After lunch, we'll return to the Cocha lagoon, where we'll board a boat that will take us on a tour of this water reserve. We'll sail into the sanctuary of La Corota Island, located in the middle of La Cocha. Here we'll get off the boat for a walk and get to know its fascinating wildlife. We'll also learn about some legends of the area, do you think there's any truth in them? Come along to find out!
Finally, we'll return to Pasto and enjoy a farewell snack. The tour will end at the same point of departure around 7 pm.
