Description
We'll meet at Piazza Carlo Alberto dalla Chiesa to provide you with bicycles for a delightful and eco-friendly journey to explore Parma's cityscape and its delectable cuisine.
While Parma is renowned for its Parmesan cheese and ham, this city boasts a diverse array of treasures waiting to be uncovered, including its rich historical and artistic heritage. On our bike ride, we'll pass by stunning palaces, churches, and theaters while enjoying Parma's gastronomy.
During our ride, we'll go past the Palazzo Ducale, a graceful 16th-century masterpiece crafted by the renowned architect Jacopo Vignola. We'll also catch sight of the Palazzo della Pilotta and the Teatro Farnese, two iconic landmarks that epitomize Parma's charm.
We'll also stop to admire the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and its baptistery before proceeding to a delightful spot to taste authentic prosciutto from Parma and Parmesan cheese. We'll complement this tasting with a glass of wine, uncovering why Parma was designated as the Creative City of Gastronomy in 2015.
To wrap up our tasty Parma food tour, we'll swing by a local pastry shop. There, we'll dive into the Duchess Cake, a scrumptious treat named after Duchess Maria Luisa of Parma. This cake is a heavenly mix of hazelnuts, custard, liqueur, and chocolate ganache.
We'll end the tour, returning to the starting point, where we'll drop off our bikes after 3 and a half hours.
