Paris Pantheon

The Latin Quarter is one of the French capital's most beautiful districts. Within this bohemian area of the city is the Pantheon: a majestic neoclassical monument whose grandiose dome rivals St Peter's in the Vatican and St Paul's in London.

Inside the monument, whose architecture is inspired by the historic Pantheon of Agrippa in Rome, you will see an outstanding collection of wall paintings. These works of art recreate religious and historical scenes, such as The Death of Saint Geneviève or Joan of Arc at the Siege of Orleans.

The Pantheon is also home to a number of sculptural masterpieces, amongst which the representation of the National Convention and the monuments to Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Diderot are particular highlights.

One of the most unique areas of the monument is the Pantheon's crypt is naturally one of the main attractions of the monument. Visit the burial places of important French figures such as Voltaire, Victor Hugo, Émile Zola, Marie Curie and Louis Braille, amongst many others.
