Notre Dame Cathedral Tour
We'll meet at the Charlemagne statue, right at the feet of the Notre Dame facade. Often considered one of the world's oldest Gothic cathedrals, from here we'll enjoy a tour around the outside of the cathedral allowing us to uncover the structure's best-kept secrets.
Though it suffered permanent damage in the fire on April 15, 2019, throughout our tour we'll share more insights into this tragedy and the bright future ahead for this beloved cathedral. We'll marvel at the iconic facade, and the famous gargoyles perched on the highest-reaching temples that climb up to 69 meters (226 feet) tall.
Following the tragic fire, and undergoing several reformations throughout its 8-century history, we'll glimpse several treasured details built into the structure. As we admire the exterior, our guide will point out key decorative pieces like the giant columns, rosettes, and the central organ. Plus, we'll discuss the parts of the structure lost in the fire, and what was preserved.
After 45 minutes of learning about the cathedral, our guide will take us into the crypts where you can explore the area at your own pace. Be sure to glimpse the archeological remains discovered thanks to an excavation project in the 20th century.
Enjoy exploring the crypts as you discover the urban and architectural evolution of the famous Île de la Cité, the historic center of Paris.
