Tour the halls of France's most famous palace with this Palace of Versailles Day Trip + Train. The guide will also show you around the impressive gardens.
Palace of Versailles Day Trip + Train
We'll meet at the designated time at a central point in Paris and from there, we'll walk over to the Invalides RER station, where we'll hop on a train to Versailles, a beautiful city on the outskirts of the capital that was the residence of the kings of France for more than a century. A symbol of absolute monarchy, today it's one of the most visited buildings in the country.
We'll arrive at the Palace of Versailles and, accompanied by the guide, we'll discover the history of this gigantic architectural complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll contemplate the exterior of the palace while listening to the particularities of its construction. You'll also see the enormous gardens, which cover more than 800 hectares.
The tour will take us along the huge tree-lined avenues, past fountains and ponds, while learning about the events that have taken place on the grounds of the palace, witness to scandals and defining moments in French history.
At the end of the guided tour of the gardens, you'll have free time to enjoy the rooms and salons inside the palace at your leisure with an audio guide in English. You'll be able to admire the Hall of Mirrors and the private chambers of the various kings while listening to all the details, visiting every corner of the royal residence at your own pace.
