Panama Canal + Monkey Island Day Trip
Description
We'll pick you up from your Panama City hotel at the designated time, and our journey will begin by minibus to the Miraflores Visitor Center. Here, you'll delve into the history of one of the most remarkable engineering feats of the 20th century.
We'll transport ourselves back to the early 1900s to explore the various construction phases of the Panama Canal. Multiple panoramic terraces at the Miraflores Visitor Center provide breathtaking vantage points to witness the passage of ships through the canal locks. It's a truly fascinating experience!
Afterward, we'll return to our minibus and journey alongside the Miraflores and Pedro Miguel locks, eventually reaching the charming town of Gamboa, nestled beside the Chagres River. Here, we'll embark on a boat, embarking on a tranquil voyage across Gatun Lake. Did you know that Gatun Lake was once the largest artificial lake in the world?
As we sail across the lake, you'll witness colossal vessels navigating its waters, surrounded by the lush expanse of the Panamanian jungle. Our next destination awaits – Monkey Island. We'll navigate its shores in search of various monkey species residing there. With a bit of luck, you may also spot other indigenous creatures, such as sloths, toucans, turtles, and alligators, adding to the adventure.
Following our exploration of Monkey Island, we'll return to the mainland to hop back on the minibus. After an immersive six-hour excursion, we'll bid you farewell and transport you back to your hotel.
