Embark on a tour that will take you to the most beautiful villages of Lake Atitlan from Panajachel. We'll sail past volcanoes and discover the Mayan culture of the locals—you'll love it!

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the door of Porta Hotel del Lago de Panajachel. From there, we'll head to the pier to board a boat that will take us to Lake Atitlan, considered by many as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.

Our tour will start as we cross the lake and get to know each of its secrets, as well as the Mayan culture that surrounds it, and the Mayan villages that coexist on its shores, merging with the Tolimán, Atitlán and San Pedro volcanoes. A sight that will leave you speechless!

Then, we'll arrive at San Juan La Laguna, a village where the Mayan roots remain in the population. We'll walk through its narrow streets full of indigenous murals to reach a group of Mayan women artisans. Here, we'll learn about the natural dyeing of fabrics, as well as how the chocolate is made.

Our next stop will be the neighbouring village of San Pedro La Laguna. We'll walk through streets where the hippie community and the Mayan population intermingle—you'll be amazed by the contrast in the streets!

We'll return to the boat to go to Santiago Atitlán, a village with an impressive local market and Mayan culture at its best. We'll visit its square and church as we walk up the street from the pier. Lastly, we'll visit a local restaurant with the most authentic Guatemalan dishes.

We'll return to the boat to cross the lake again and return to Panajachel, where we'll finish our excursion after between 6 and 7 hours.
