Discover the villages of Pampaneira, Capileira and Bubión with this Sierra Nevada Trekking Route. You'll also enjoy incredible views of the Mulhacén, not to be missed!
Sierra Nevada Trekking Route
We'll meet at 9 am in Plaza de la Libertad, in Pampaneira. From this point, we'll start a trekking route, of between 6 and 9 kilometres, which will take us to know the great charms of Sierra Nevada.
First, we'll go to the National Park information point, where we'll start to get to know some of the curiosities of this protected natural environment. We'll also see farming tools and other equipment that will help us understand what rural life is like in the villages throughout this part of the Alpujarra of Granada.
Little by little, we'll leave Pampaneira behind and start walking along the banks of the Poqueira ravine. We'll climb up its slopes discovering the beautiful panorama offered by the white villages of the Sierra Nevada. We'll reveal the history and culture of the towns of Bubión and Capileira by walking through their streets.
As we walk along the mountain paths we'll talk about how these peaks were formed, and discover the origin of their rivers. We'll also enjoy a postcard image when the Mulhacén appears on the horizon - the highest peak in the Iberian Peninsula!
After four or six hours of walking, depending on the abilities and conditions of the group, we'll finish the route returning to the starting point.
