Serras Gerais 2 or 4-Day Tour
2-Day Tour
Day 1: Palmas – Pedra Furada – Lagoa do Japonês – Pindorama
After picking you up from your hotel in Palmas, we'll begin our tour of Serras Gerais by travelling in a 4x4 vehicle to Pedra Furada, an impressive sandstone geological formation that will leave you speechless.
After lunch, we'll continue exploring Serras Gerais by visiting the Lagoa do Japonês lake, a natural enclave formed by a shallow lake and a flooded cave that are interconnected. Can you imagine taking a swim in this special place? Well, dream no more! You'll have time to cool off in the crystal-clear waters and enjoy the scenery.
Finally, we'll travel to Pindorama, where we'll have dinner and spend the night.
Day 2: Pindorama – Enchanged Canyon – Cidade de Pedra – Palmas
After breakfast, we'll drive to the Enchanted Canyon, one of the most famous attractions in Serras Gerais. Upon arrival, we'll admire its 70-metre-high (229-foot-high) walls and visit the Elias Waterfall, a magical place to swim in.
The next stop of the day will be Cidade de Pedra, or the Stone City, where we'll see curious rock formations, carved over thousands of years of wind erosion. There, we'll take a walk to get close to the dos Pelados and Urubu Rei Waterfalls.
Finally, we'll return to Palmas, where we'll finish our tour at around 7 pm.
4-Day Tour
Day 1: Palmas – Enchanged Canyon – Cidade de Pedra – Dianópolis
On the first day, we'll follow the same itinerary as on the second day of the 2-day tour. In this case, we'll end the day having dinner and resting in a hotel in Dianópolis.
Day 2: Dianópolis – Aurora do Tocantins – Praia do Pequizeiro – Praia Puçá – Rio da Conceição
On day 2 of our adventure, we'll leave the hotel after breakfast and travel to Aurora do Tocantins, where we'll find the Azuis River, the smallest river in Latin America—it's only 147 metres (482 feet) long!
Afterwards, we'll approach Pequizeiro and Puçá beaches, 2 idyllic places where you'll have free time to relax and swim. Finally, we'll travel to Rio da Conceição, where we'll spend the night.
Day 3: Rio da Conceição – Lago da Serra – Cachoeira Cavalo Queimado – Cachoeira das 17 Quedas – Dianópolis
Feeling rested in the morning, we'll head to Lago da Serra, where you'll enjoy the calm and crystal-clear waters of one of the most beautiful lagoons in Serras Gerais.
Then, we'll travel to the Cachoeira Cavalo Queimado waterfall, a cascade with numerous pools where you can go rafting. Are you brave enough? In this beautiful enclave, we'll stop for lunch and continue the day approaching the Cachoeira das 17 Quedas waterfall, whose mini canyons, small waterfalls and natural pools will enchant you.
We'll finish the day at the hotel in Dianópolis.
Day 4: Dianópolis – Lagoa Bonita – Natividade – Palmas
After breakfast, we'll head to Lagoa Bonita. To get there, we'll hike through a beautiful lush forest.
Afterwards, we'll travel to Natividade, the oldest urban centre of Tocantins. We'll visit the Iglesia Histórica de Piedras church and taste the famous biscoito amor perfeito, a typical regional sweet. Before leaving this town, we'll stop at a restaurant for lunch.
