Day 1
We'll pick you up from your Palmas hotel at the designated time to embark on an extraordinary 6-day excursion through Jalapão State Park. Welcome to the vibrant capital of Tocantins!
Our initial destination will be the enchanting Taquarussu waterfalls, which offer various breathtaking cascades to explore. Following this awe-inspiring experience, we'll indulge in a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, where you'll have some free time to try your hand at adventure sports like rappelling or zip-lining.
As the day concludes, we'll take you to the Taquarussu Hotel for a relaxing dinner and a well-deserved rest.
Day 2
We'll start the day off right with a delightful breakfast first thing in the morning before we set off for the captivating Jalapão State Park. En route to our destination, we'll make a pit stop at the Japanese Lagoon of Puente Alto de Tocantins. Here, you can swim in its crystal-clear waters and savor a delectable lunch.
Then we'll go to Puente Alto, the city where the park is located, to leave our belongings in the hotel before we visit the surreal rock formation of Pedra Furada. Remember to bring your camera to capture these scenes forever! Finally, we'll go to the hotel in Puente Alto, where we have dinner and spend the night.
Day 3
Following breakfast, we'll leave Puente Alto de Tocantins behind and continue our journey to the Rio Nuevo community, a village inhabited by Afro-descendants. We'll delve into their history, gain insights into their way of life, and partake in a delightful lunch.
Our exploration extends to the serene shores of the Nuevo River, featuring a small beach for a leisurely swim. Next up on the itinerary are the Jalapão dunes and the Espírito Santo mountain range—a true natural spectacle! The day's adventures culminate in Mateiros, where we'll have dinner and tuck in for the night.
Day 4
We'll have breakfast and travel to one of the most amazing places in Jalapão State Park: the famous Fervedouros, natural fountains fed by underground channels. You can even bathe in these wonderful emerald waters.
Afterward, we'll have a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before continuing our journey to the community of Mumbuca, where you'll learn about the art of Golden Grass, and can take home some souvenirs of their local crafts. Afterward, we'll visit the Fervedouro do Encontro das Águas spring before we return to Mateiros for a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay.
Day 5
In the morning, a hearty breakfast at the Mateiros Hotel sets the tone for another day of exploration within Jalapão State Park. Our next destination is Fervedouro Buritizinho, where you'll have the opportunity to take a refreshing swim in this unique confluence of rivers.
Following this experience, we'll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Energized and ready for more, our journey continues to the mesmerizing Fervedouro do Macaúbas, offering not only the chance for a swim but also stunning views of the São Felix do Tocantins mountain range.
As the day unfolds, we'll arrive at the hotel in São Felix, where we'll enjoy dinner before tucking in again for the night.
Day 6
On our last day of adventure, we'll enjoy one more breakfast together before going to see a few more springs or Fervedouros, such as Alecrim and Bela Vista. Then, we'll enjoy lunch and wrap up our incredible tour, arriving back at Palmas around 7:30 pm.
Jalapão State Park tour options for 3, 4, or 5 days
If your schedule is tight, fear not! We offer tours of varying durations, each providing a unique and captivating experience in Jalapão State Park. Here's an overview of the different features of each itinerary:
5-day tour
Similar to the 6-day tour, this itinerary covers almost identical locations. However, the tour concludes in Palmas on the afternoon of the fifth day instead of the sixth, allowing for a slightly shorter duration.
4-day tour
Day 1
We'll spend the first day exploring the Japonesa Lagoon, Piedra Furada, and then finally, we'll wrap up this fun expereince at the Alto de Tocantins Bridge.
Day 2
Today, we'll focus on the Rio Novo community, the Serra do Espírito Santo, and its dunes, we'll stay the night in Mateiros.
Day 3
On day 3, we'll begin discovering the natural pools of the State Park, including Fervedouros like Buritis and Buritizinho, along with the Formiga waterfall before arriving in São Félix to rest for the night.
Day 4
This final day, we'll visit additional Fervedouros, including Bela Vista. We'll also get to explore the Alecrim beach and the Cathedral mountain range before heading to Palmas in the afternoon.
3-day tour
Day 1
We'll kick off this compact tour by exploring the Cathedral mountain range. Then, we'll visit Fervedouros like Por Enquanto, Bela Vista, or Romero, and spend the night in São Félix.
Day 2
We'll dedicate this day to the natural pools of Jalapão State Park, especially those of Macaubas and Buritizinho. We'll also traverse the Espírito Santo mountain range and the dunes, and spend the night in Mateiros.
Day 3
After breakfast and admiring the Formiga waterfall, we'll visit one final Fervedouro and conclude the tour by returning to Palmas.
