Mysteries and Legends Free Tour of Palma
Mysteries and Legends of Palma
We'll start this free mysteries and legends walking tour in the central Plaza de España, in the heart of the island's capital.
We'll start off by discovering the history of Madina Mayurqa; the name given to the city during the Moorish period. Until King James I of Aragon's Christian reconquest in the 12th century, the walls of Madina Mayurqa bore witness to many bloody battles. We'll be surprised by the stories of the prisoners that fought in these battles, and the unexpected final result will leave us completely lost for words!
Very close to the temple there is the Diocesan Museum and the Santa Clara Convent. It is here where legend has it that a local woman was brought back from the dead, and centuries later questions still remain unanswered...
As we walk along the surrounding streets, each one teeming with mysteries, we'll head to the Santa María Cathedral, where our tour will come to an end.
