Bay of Islands Wine Tour
Description
New Zealand's wines are becoming increasingly acclaimed around the world. If you love wine tourism, are in Paihia and want to discover the Maori country's wine tradition, then this Bay of Islands wine tour is perfect for you. Let's get started!
We'll pick you up from your hotel and head to the Fat Pig Vineyard, one of the oldest wineries in the area. Upon arrival, we'll greet the owners, who'll be in charge of showing us the products they produce with great care. In addition to discovering their secrets, we'll get to taste the wine!
With this good taste in our mouths, we'll head to the next vineyard, Sovrano Estate, a small family-run estate on the outskirts of Kerikeri. On this visit, we'll see the organic farming carried out by its owners and they'll teach us how to differentiate the grapes used in the production of their wines.
We'll also discover the limoncello they make at this winery, highly influenced by its Italian origins. It's delicious! We'll leave this place behind and head for the last winery of the day, the Marsden Estate, which is more than 20 years old. There, we'll have a tasting of 6 different wines and enjoy a lunch overlooking the vineyards and the lake.
After this wine experience, we'll head back to your hotel in Paihia and say goodbye after a total of 4 hours of wine touring.
