Hiking in Yanachaga Chemillén National Park
Hiking in Yanachaga Chemillén National Park
You'll be picked up at 8:30 am at your hotel in Oxapampa and then we'll head towards the Yanachaga Chemillén National Park, one of the most important conservation areas in the Amazon basin.
After a 25-minute drive, we'll set out on a hike through the park's natural landscapes, admiring its biodiversity as we walk along the drail. Did you know that it's one of the most biologically rich areas in the world?
We'll cross ecosystems typical of the Central Peruvian rainforest such as cloud forests or yungas parks. We'll make the first stop at the El Cedro refuge, where we'll hear an informative talk about the route.
Then we'll return to the trail. As we walk, we'll be able to observe the great variety of birds, mammals, and native plants of this territory.
The end of the trail is the Abra La Esperanza, the peak of the park's mountain. We'll get amazing views of the Yanachaga Chemillén landscapes below. Then, we'll head back down, retracing our steps from before back to the starting point.
There is where the vehicle will be waiting for us to take us back to Oxapampa. We'll drop you off at your hotel around 2:30 pm.
