Ouro Preto & Mariana Tour
After picking you up at your hotel at 8:30 am, we'll start a tour of Ouro Preto to discover all the charms of this World Heritage City.
We'll first visit the church of San Francisco, a symbol of this historic town. While we admire its façade and walk through its chapels, we'll reveal the secrets of this work by Aleijadinho, the greatest representative of the baroque style in the state of Minas Gerais.
Afterwards, we'll go to the Carmo church and visit the Inconfidência Museum. This exhibition will allow us to delve into the past of Ouro Preto, discovering how it was founded in the 18th century and why it was known as Vila Rica. Before we say goodbye to the city, we'll visit the Oratory Museum, full of valuable pieces of art.
We'll leave you with an hour and a half of free time for lunch before boarding the minibus that will take us to the ancient capital of Minas Gerais. Welcome to Mariana!
We'll visit the Minas Gerais square, as its high altitude will allow us to enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the colonial houses and the mountains that spread over Mariana.
During the guided tour of Mariana, we'll see the churches of Carmen and San Francisco, the Town Hall and other iconic buildings. Of course, we'll get to admire the exterior of the Pelourinho, where in colonial times penalties and punishments were handed down to offenders of Portuguese law.
The tour will end at 5:30 pm and you'll be dropped back at your hotel in Ouro Preto.
