On this free tour of Oslo, we'll take you on a journey to discover the Norwegian capital's main historical and cultural sites!
Free Walking Tour of Oslo
At the indicated time, we'll start our free tour of Oslo in front of the National Theatre, right in the heart of the city. Let's go!
After admiring the Theatre, we'll make our way towards Rådhuset, Oslo's City Hall. Here, every September 10, the Nobel Peace Prizes are awarded.
We'll learn about the history behind this prestigious award before moving on to the neighborhood of Aker Brygge which takes us to the Akershus Fortress. This 13th-century medieval castle was originally built to protect and provide a royal residence for the city. Over the years, it's had different uses like a military base and even a prison.
Next, we'll head to Christiania Torv, the oldest square in Oslo that will lead us to Karl Johan, the most famous street in the Norwegian capital. We'll also pass by the Cathedral and Central Station where we'll spot another 3 iconic monuments.
Our last stop will be in front of the Bjørvika Library. From here, we'll bring our tour to an end, in front of the Oslo Opera, 1.5-2 hours later.
