Discover the old capital of Japan on this day trip to Kyoto from Osaka. Buddhist temples, gardens, imperial palaces, Shinto shrines, and much more await you!
Description
At 9 am, we'll meet at the JR Namba OCAT 1F train station. There, the bus will be waiting for us to take us to the city of Kyoto. The ride will take about 1 hour.
The first stop of the day will Fushimi Inari-Taisha, the main Shinto shrine in Kyoto and one of the most beautiful temples in the whole country. After exploring this temple, we'll go to Kiyomizudera Temple, a group of temples and religious enclosures declared World Heritage Site by Unesco. This is undoubtedly one of the most iconic places of the ancient Japanese capital!
Hungry? At around 1 pm, we'll stop at a local restaurant for a traditional-style lunch. Lunch will consist of a rice dish with tofu and a vegetable tempura.
After this stop to rest and refuel, we'll continue our tour and head to Kinkaku-ji, also known as the Golden Pavilion. Did you know that this temple was once the residence of Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu?
Our last destination will be Arashiyama and its famous bamboo forest - it looks like something straight out of a fairy tale. Make sure to take a bunch of pictures in its iconic winding paths!
Lastly, we'll head back to Osaka and drop you off at the initial meeting point, ending the tour at 6:30 pm.
