Lipica & Skocjan Caves Day Trip

At 9 am we'll pick you up from your hotel in Opatija. We'll leave Croatia and travel to Slovenia to visit Lipica and admire the famous Lipizzan horses.

First, we'll visit a farm to learn all about this horse breed and the reasons why they are so important to Slovenians. Did you know that they even appear on one of their coins? We'll tell you about how Lipizzan horses are taken care of daily and you'll also be able to get close to them and even pet them if you wish.

Our next stop will be the Lipikum Museum, one of the best places to learn about the intricacies of dressage. Depending on the day of the tour, you might even be able to attend a live Lipizzan horse show.

Then, we'll leave Lipica and head to the Skocjan Caves, grottos formed along the Reka River. We'll explore this Slovenian cave system and admire the impressive stalactites and stalagmites, the water rapids, and the beautiful Skocjan lakes. We'll even get to see the largest underground canyon in the world - an amazing sight to behold.

Lastly, we'll head back to Opatija and drop you back at your hotel at 2 pm approximately.
