Tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas
Tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas
When making your reservation, you can choose between the following options:
Standard tour (10 hours)
We'll pick you up at your hotel between 7:30 and 8 am and set off toward the ruins of Pisac, where we'll visit some of the most breathtaking Incan remains in Peru. Get your cameras ready!
Once in Pisac, we'll head towards the local shops to look at beautiful artisanal goods made by locals. Later, we'll continue down the Vilcanota River to arrive at Urubamba, the Sacred Valley's capital. Here, you can enjoy a meal at a local restaurant or a typical Andean buffet.
Then, we'll head to the Ollantaytambo ruins for a guided visit through the historical site. Be sure to take note of the sheer strength of these structures as we walk through them. Once we've explored the area, we'll return to Cuzco and make a quick pit stop in Chincheros to visit the Church of Nuestra Señora de Monserrat and learn about its history.
The tour will come to an end back at your hotel.
Complete tour (12 horas)
Between 6:30 and 7 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel and head to Chincheros, our first archeological site of the day.
Afterward, we'll head to Maras, where we'll arrive at Moray and find circular terraces with a fascinating history. We'll also visit the salt mines and discover their use during the Incan era. There are more than 3,000 ponds of various sizes and dimensions that belonged to local families who took advantage of the salt. They treated it with iodine and sold it later in the market.
We'll return to Urubamba and enjoy a delicious lunch full of typical Andean foods. You can also enjoy lunch at any of the local restaurants in the area.
The next stop on our tour is Ollantaytambo, which dates back to the 15th century. We'll discover its important sites, such as the Temple of the Sun, the Princess baths, and the Intihuatana.
To wrap things up, we'll visit the Pisac ruins, where we can see a huge amount of Andean ruins and the most well-preserved Andean cemetery in the country.
We'll finish our tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas back at your hotel.
