Ólafsvík Whale Watching
Ólafsvík Whale Watching
At your chosen time, we'll meet on Norðurtangi Street at the Ólafsvík port. From there, we'll board a boat and take a pleasant dolphin and whale watching experience around Iceland's coast.
As we set off, we'll skirt the coastline of the Snæfellsnes peninsula and admire the breathtaking scenery. Off in the distance, you'll see the 4,700-foot (1,450-metre) high Snæfellsjökull volcano and the numerous glaciers that cover it.
Once we've distanced ourselves from the coast, we'll begin to see the first whales. You'll see different species of whales depending on the time of year you choose to do this activity. Some of the whales that inhabit these North Atlantic waters are humpback, pilot, minke and sperm whales and even killer whales
We'll see these incredible animals up close and, if we're lucky, we'll hear their songs and vocalizations. In addition, we may also see several dolphin families. As we observe these fascinating animals, we'll tell you lots of fun facts about them so you can become a real dolphin and whale expert.
During the boat trip, you'll also be able to take pictures of Skarðsvík's golden sandy beaches, see the city of Keflavík and admire the Svörtuloft and Öndverðarnes lighthouses.
After 3 hours of adventure, we'll disembark back at the starting point and finish the activity.
