Walking Tour of Oaxaca
Walking Tour of Oaxaca
We'll pick you up at your hotel, and from there begin our tour of the city, discovering all of Oaxaca's nooks and crannies.
Our first stop will be the Temple of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, one of the best examples of baroque architecture in all Mexico. And we'll also visit the Museum of the Cultures of Oaxaca (ticket not included), located inside the old Santo Domingo convent, here you can see the vast collection of archaeological objects from the Mixtec and Zapotec cultures gathered within.
Our walking tour then continues around the cobbled streets of Oaxaca, until we arrive at the zólaco, the main square in the city. Here you can find museums, artisanal shops and restaurants typical to the city.
Then we'll delve into the traditional markets, such as the Mercado Benito Juárez, where you can find a wide variety of black clay items, or the well-known "alebrijes", colourful fantasy figurines which have their origin in this region of Mexico.
After a day of discovering Oaxaca, we'll head back to the hotels, arriving around 2 pm.
