Mezcal Tour of Santa Catarina Minas
Mezcal Tour of Santa Catarina Minas
After picking you up from your hotel in Oaxaca, we'll drive 45 minutes by road to Santa Catarina Minas. Once there, we'll start our mezcal tour.
This town is famous for its mezcal tradition. To learn all about it, we'll meet one of the local mezcal producers. We'll learn how agave has been milled by hand, fermented in piles, and distilled in clay pots here historically.
Afterward, we'll visit an artisanal mezcal factory, where we'll get to discover the agave cultivation and organic production processes. This farm is also home to cows and goats that provide the fertilizer for the plantations!
Our tour will end with a mezcal tasting, where we'll taste a total of 10 different varieties. Cheers! On the way back we'll stop at a restaurant in the Ocotlán Valley, where you'll have time to get some food if you want.
We'll then drive you back to your hotel in Oaxaca, where you'll arrive 7 hours later.
