Mexican Cooking Class
Mexican Cooking Class
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Oaxaca, and make our way to one of the main markets in the city. From here, along with your expert chef and mentor for the day, you'll prepare dinner made of the region's most typical dishes!
The class will be completely interactive: first heading to the markets to identify and purchase the ingredients on your shopping list. Among the variety of food on offer, you'll prepare two of the region's most famous and typical dishes - be they mole, Oaxaca soup, tortillas or tamales.
The chef will explain all about Mexican culinary tradition, the kinds of ingredients that you can find in the markets, and their uses. And you'll also prepare some typical drinks, to keep you refreshed in the heat of the kitchen, such as margaritas, or chilacayote (a soft drink made with squash, cinnamon and cloves).
The cooking class continues, learning all the techniques from the chefs, who will lead you step by step through the techniques and tricks to each of these dishes.
Then, with the dishes ready and waiting you'll sit down to taste your creations, confirming that not only are they delicious, but that you've become a genuine expert in Mexican cuisine. Bon appétit!
The tour then ends back at your hotel.
