Colonial Architecture Tour
Colonial Architecture Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll swing by to pick you up at your hotel in downtown Oaxaca and set off toward our first stop of the day, the Ex-Convent of San Juan Bautista Coixtlahuaca.
Upon arrival, you'll be awed by the intricate snake-shaped details that adorn the façade and interior of the temple. Next, we'll visit one of Oaxaca's most impressive religious complexes, the Ex-Convent of San Pedro and San Pablo Teposcolula. The town of Teposcolula is known as one of Oaxaca's magical towns, and we'll visit its open chapel, the largest in Latin America.
We'll then head to the charming town of San Pedro Yucunama, where we'll walk along cobblestone streets and admire the stunning architecture that transports us back in time. We'll also learn about the customs and traditions that the villagers still practice today.
Finally, we'll visit a local family of artisans from the Mixtec region, who will welcome us into their home and give us a demonstration of palm handicrafts. This is a unique opportunity to witness the skills and artistry of these talented artisans.
Finally, we'll head back to Oaxaca and drop you off at your hotel, where we'll arrive after a total of about 9 hours.
