Mariposa Grove Day Trip
Mariposa Grove Day Trip
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up at Pines Resort or the Oakhurst Park & Ride and drive to the Yosemite National Park.
When we get to this park, which is world-famous for its giant sequoia groves, we'll take the south entrance and head to Mariposa Grove. Yosemite's largest sequoia grove awaits! Did you know that this grove was integrated into the complex in 1906, 16 years after the area was declared a national park?
We'll walk through Mariposa Grove and admire the sheer size of its most famous trees, such as the Giant Grizzly, which is one of the oldest on the planet, and the California Tunnel Tree. In 1895, a tunnel was opened that would allow carriages to pass through the centre of the tree.
Next, we'll take a break to have some snacks before visiting the Yosemite Pioneer History Center. This open-air museum with wooden buildings tells the story of the park's history. While we're here, we'll share some fun facts about Yosemite, its chronology and geology.
It'll then be time to leave the park and take the bus back to Oakhurst. We'll get to the pickup point 6 hours after the start of the tour. See you next time!
