Nuremberg World War II Tour
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your selected meeting point and begin this tour of Nuremberg. As we visit historically significant sites, we'll learn about the events that unfolded in Nuremberg during and after World War II.
Our first destination is the Reichsparteigelände, old Nazi party rally grounds located in the southeast corner of Nuremberg. Here, the remnants of grand structures still captivate visitors with their monumental scale, serving as stark reminders of the Nazi regime's authority at the time. This expansive area, spanning 10 square kilometres (4 square miles), was designed to provide a dramatic backdrop for Nazi rallies, showcasing their power to Germany and the world.
Next, we'll visit Zeppelinfeld, the site of numerous large-scale rallies, where the echoes of the past linger in the air. Since 1973, this place has been a protected monument to serve as an example of Nazi Party architecture, and a stark reminder of historical horrors.
Finally, we'll head to the Nuremberg Palace of Justice, the location of the infamous Major War Criminals Trial, which took place before the International Military Tribunal from November 20th, 1945, to October 1st, 1946.The choice to use the Nuremberg Palace of Justice to prosecute German criminals was quite significant, given the number of Nazi rallies previously held in the city of Nuremberg. Do you know why Courtroom 600 in particular gained international fame during this moment in history?
After a total of 3 hours, we'll bring the tour to an end, with a newfound understanding of the history of the city of Nuremberg.
