Tour Options

During the booking process, you'll be able to choose between the following options. Both begin at the designated time in Casa Nepeta, a 15-minute drive from the city of Noto and last between 2.5 to 3 hours. These are the details for each option:

Distillery Visit + Botanical Printing

Once we meet at Casa Nepeta, we'll begin the experience with a 2-hour botanical printing workshop. We'll venture into nature in search of leaves and plants cultivated on the estate that we'll use to create our works of art. 

Once we've gathered our plants, we'll begin the creative process. You'll learn how to use a chalcography press to etch them, as well as manual contact printing techniques, as a way to transfer the essence of the plants onto your materials. You'll be able to create a small fabric tapestry to hang or a work on paper, making several prints that you can keep as a souvenir. A truly unique keepsake!

Next, we'll explore the organic aromatic herb fields in the distillery, where plants such as lesser calamint, marjoram, and thyme are used to make the estate's spirits. During our tour, we'll speak about the properties of these herbs, which you can touch, smell, and take home with you.

Lastly, we'll conclude this experience with a tasting of the distillery's herbal spirits, which you can pair with local products if you wish.

Distillery Visit + Truffle Hunting

If you choose this option, we'll head into the woods surrounding Casa Nepeta in search of treasured truffles, like bianchetto truffles and black truffles. Alongside a truffle expert and his loyal dogs, we'll look for these valuable fungi for 2 hours. If you wish, you'll be able to purchase the truffles we collected.

After our truffle hunt, we'll return to the distillery to enjoy a well-deserved rest by tasting one of the herbal spirits produced locally. Those who wish will also be able to try a frozen Nepeta Spritz, a house-special herbal cocktail, or taste some typical products from the region with shavings of the recently collected truffles.

Lastly, this experience will come to an end with a visit to the aromatic herb fields on the estate.
