On this route on the Train of the Alps we'll depart from Nice and travel through the Var Valley, one of the most beautiful areas in the South of France, which will captivate you forever!
Tour Description
At the appointed time, we'll meet at the Gare des Chemins de Fer de Provence train station. Ready to discover the Var Valley?
Our first stop is Entrevaux, often hailed as one of the most picturesque towns in France. Here, you'll explore the stunning Royal Citadel, reached by a 150-step staircase, and take in views from the medieval drawbridge overlooking the Var Valley. We'll also visit a charming baroque cathedral, adding to the town's historic charm
After lunch at a local restaurant, we'll hop back on the train and head to a stunning medieval village nearby, known for its troglodyte features and seasonal changes. We'll take a scenic 5-kilometer (3.1 miles) walk through the area, exploring an ancient chestnut forest that’s several hundred years old. Be prepared for a good workout, as this route requires decent physical fitness!
Depending on the group's pace, we’ll choose between a shorter 4-kilometer ( hike or a longer 8-kilometer circuit. Either way, you'll breathe in the clean, fresh air of the Alps while exploring the enchanting forest.
Finally, we will take the Alpine Train again, which will end its route at the departure station in Nice, where we'll conclude this excursion of approximately 13.5 hours in total.
