Hunter Valley Wine Tour
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your accommodation in Newcastle and begin our journey to the Hunter Valley. Are you ready to discover the Australian region's finest vineyards?
Our first stop of the day will be the Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard, located atop a hillside in the Brokenback Mountain Ranges. We'll admire stunning 360-degree views as we enjoy a 45-minute premium seated wine tasting. Plus, we'll explore the on-site winemaking museum. Housed in the original winery, it showcases the family's history and their heritage-awarded open cement vats, along with various wine-making tools and equipment.
Next, we visit Small Mouth Vodka, where we'll have 8 tastings, including flavoured vodkas, gins, and liqueurs. Handcrafted and free from preservatives and artificial ingredients, Small Mouth Vodka offers full flavour with a long, smooth finish.
Afterwards, we'll make our way to RidgeView Estate, a place brimming with dedication and passion that produces award-winning wines. This family-run winery is the product of a dream to handcraft small batches of estate and locally grown wines that capture the essence of this famed wine region. In the tasting room, we'll see for ourselves why RidgeView has earned a 5-star Halliday rating with their refined Chardonnays, earthy Shirazes, and lively Semillons.
Having worked up an appetite, we'll stop at 4 Pines at The Farm. This venue is a 600-square-metre (6,458-square-foot) taproom, bistro, and cellar door with panoramic views of the Hunter Valley. Here, we'll give you free time to get yourself lunch. Enjoy a beer at the 12-tap bar or a Semillon on the patio, while dining al fresco under the pavilion overlooking the vines—the choice is yours!
Our journey will then continue to Saltire Estate, which honours the legacy of James Busby, the Scotsman known as the father of Australian wine. With vines propagated from cuttings Busby brought from Europe, this rustic winery offers a unique tasting experience. As we savour their wines, we'll marvel at the breathtaking views surrounding us.
As the day goes on, our final stop will be at Binnorie Dairy. At their tasting bar, cheesemakers will guide us through a selection of their creamy cow and goat milk creations. We'll enjoy the rich, complex flavours that have made Binnorie Dairy a favourite among cheese enthusiasts across Australia.
Finally, after a total of between 8 and 10 hours, we'll drop you back to your accommodation in Newcastle. Until next time!
