Discover Washington DC and Philadelphia in one day with this tour from New York. You'll visit some of the most iconic places in the history of the United States.
Washington DC & Philadelphia Day Trip
We'll meet outside the Renaissance Hotel in Times Square at 5 am. We'll board a comfortable air-conditioned bus that will take us to the capital of the United States. After a 5-hour drive, with a halfway stop so you can buy some breakfast if you wish or simply rest and stretch your legs, we'll arrive in Washington DC and start a day trip tour to visit the most iconic sights of the city.
Our tour will begin with a visit to the Iwo Jima Memorial, one of the most emblematic statues in the world. After seeing the famous statue of the soldiers raising the American flag, we'll visit the Abraham Lincoln Memorial, the president who promoted the abolition of slavery in the country. We'll also make a stop at the monuments dedicated to the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
Next stop? The White House, which we'll admire from the outside and whose history we'll learn about thanks to the explanations of our guide, an expert in American history. After visiting the residence of the President of the United States, we'll see the Capitol, the place where decisions are made that govern the American country and impact the whole world.
After seeing the must-see sites of Washington, you'll have an hour of free time to enjoy a meal at a local restaurant of your choosing. After eating, we'll reconvene and return to the bus to travel from the current capital to the former capital - Philadelphia was the first capital of the United States after the Revolutionary War, so the historical significance of the city is reflected everywhere you look.
We'll start our tour of Philadelphia with a look at two of the city's iconic landmarks from the outside: the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, the building that housed the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. Our next stop will be a visit to the iconic Rocky's Stairs, located at the entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Put your strength to the test and try and match Stallonje by climbing the 72 steps all the way to the top!
Finally, at 6:30 pm we'll begin our return journey to New York. We'll be back in Times Square at approximately 8:30 pm.
