New York City After Dark
On the day of the activity, we'll meet at the Washington Square Arch and set off on a spooky adventure on a tour of New York City's most haunted corners. Get your proton packs ready, we're going ghost hunting!
First up, within Washington Square Park, we'll head over to the Hangman's Elm, the oldest tree in New York. What mysteries surround the tree? We'll find out thanks to our knowledgeable guide who will share spine-tingling insights throughout the tour!
From here, we'll move into Greenwich Village the famed bohemian neighborhood of New York City. Here, we'll head over to visit the favorite haunt of the Gay Street Phantom. One of the buildings along this historic street is said to be haunted by a mysterious figure that floats around at night. Will we catch a glimpse of this specter?
Next up, we'll visit the house where famed spooky author Edgar Allan Poe penned some of his best works. Did you know he called the Big Apple home for a time before moving to the countryside with his wife? Next, we'll discover what Potter's Field is and explore former sites in the city. We'll also learn about the Ghost Poet of New York City.
To wrap up our tour we'll visit Mark Twain's former home. Another fan of the Village, Twain resided in the area in the early 20th century for a time. Though his original home was torn down, the house built on top of the remains carries with it a legend that his ghost haunts the grounds to this day! If we're lucky, we may spot him floating through the halls as we admire the new residence from its exterior.
Then, following a 2-hour adventure, we'll end our hauntingly thrilling tour back at the starting point.
