If you love adventure, you can't miss out on this trekking route on Mount Kenya. Enjoy one of the most famous expeditions in Africa by climbing to the top of the highest mountain in the country.

Description

Welcome to a once-in-a-lifetime experience! At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi and set off for the famous Mount Kenya.

First of all, we'll travel to Nanyuki, the capital of Laikipia County. Did you know that this place is the base of the Kenyan Air Force and a training area for the British Army? It will also be our starting point to climb to the top of Mount Kenya, the highest mountain in the country and the second highest in Africa.

Once there, we'll start walking from 1,980 metres (6,496 ft) to 2,650 metres (8,694 ft) through the Sirimon Gate, a total of 23 kilometres (14 miles) to the top of Mount Kenya!

We'll embark on a hiking route of about 3.5 hours, admiring the area's typical vegetation, which consists of bamboo, rosewood trees and heather. The first stop will be at Old Moses camp, 3,300 metres (10826 ft) above sea level.

Once we have rested and acclimatised, we'll continue the hike to 3,600 metres (11,811 ft), a point where we can admire the Nelion and Batian peaks, two of the most important peaks of Mount Kenya. The effort will have been worth it!

With a camera full of photographs, we'll start our descent to the camp, where we'll recover our strength with a delicious picnic lunch. After eating, we'll continue our descent to Sirimon Gate. There. the minibus will be waiting to take us back to Nairobi.

After this unforgettable experience, we'll end this 13-hour tour at your hotel.
