Mykonos, Ano Mera & Farm Tour
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel or the cruise port and start a tour of Mykonos to discover the true beauty of this Greek island.
First, we'll make our way to a viewpoint so that you can take some fantastic photos of the island. Then we'll head to the small harbour of San Ioannis. This is famously where fishing boats set sail in order to protect themselves from the strong winds of the north of the island.
Next, we'll come to St. Ioannis Church which stands next to a small cell where they say the saint was held captive. Then, after listening to some more fascinating facts about the town's history, we'll make our way to Mykonos airport, where we'll see how planes land and take off in this tiny place.
After, we'll make our way to Ano Mera, the only inland village on the island. We'll explore this picturesque corner of whitewashed houses, narrow streets and pretty squares. We'll also visit the Panagia Tourliani monastery, founded in 1542 by two monks. The monastry truly merits a visit as its the perfect example of typical Greek architecture style.
Our next stop on our tour of the island will be a visit to the Mykonian farm. Here you'll learn all about the special techniques used to grow crops and care for the animals. There, if you'd like, you can have a delicious snack on your own, usually consisting of Greek salad, feta cheese, olives, tzatziki, dolmadakia and stuffed tomato, accompanied by bread and a drink.
Finally, we'll make our way back to the meeting point, but of course, our trip wouldn't be complete without visiting some of the most beautiful beaches of Mykonos, such as Kalo Livadi, Kalafati and Agia Anna.
After four hours of sightseeing, the tour will come to an end.
