Guided Tour of Muscat
Itinerary
We will pick you up at your hotel in the morning and head towards Shati Al-Qurm, the elegant Muscat neighbourhood which is home to embassies, ministries and upscale hotels. From there we will begin our guided tour.
It is here where we can start to appreciate the contrast of styles that the capital of Oman offers – the modernity of the government buildings is fused with touches of ancient Islamic architecture.
Next, we will visit the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the biggest in the country, which was built by a team of up to 20,000 workers and that occupies a space of almost 420,000 square metres. Marvel at its geometrical patterns in marble!
Then we will visit the fish market and stroll through the narrow-covered alleys of the Mutrah Souk. The mixture of smells from spices, coffee, and herbal remedies will delight your senses.
Later, we will head towards the Bait Al Zubair Museum, where you will catch the history and culture of Oman (entrance ticket included). Before ending the tour, we will make a last stop in front of the Al Alam Palace, the official residence of Sultan Qaboos. Don’t forget to bring your camera!
