Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Karlsplatz 21-24 and from there we'll set off on a hike to the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain. Let's go!
As we begin our 1 hour and 15-minute journey, we'll listen to interesting stories and facts about this area of the Bavarian Alps that marks the border between Austria and Germany. Once we arrive at our destination, the Garmisch-Partenkirchen station, we'll take a 10-minute cable car ride up to the summit of the Zugspitze, 2,962 meters high (9,717 ft).
Once at the summit, you'll have the opportunity to explore this majestic place at your own pace. An absolute must-do is a hike to the golden cross of the Zugspitze, and sledding on the glacial slopes!
Of course, you can't miss the breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of more than 400 peaks that spread out across 4 countries. What's more, there are several cafés where you can relax and enjoy a typical Alpine dish atop the mountain.
Later, we'll meet again to board a rack railway that will take us back to the foot of the mountain. This historic railroad winds through picturesque alpine landscapes, offering spectacular views of green meadows and crystal-clear mountain streams—the perfect finishing touch!
Finally, we'll bid farewell at the starting point in Munich after a total of 8 hours.
