Description
Having been picked up from your hotel on the morning of your tour, we'll head to the iconic Gateway of India, where you'll hop aboard a tourist boat to head to the stunning Elephanta Caves, a recognised World Heritage Site and one of Mumbai's most impressive temples.
After a little over an hour sailing, you'll arrive on Elephanta Island, where the complex of seven caves are located. In complete contrast to the bustle of Mumbai, enjoy the peace and tranquility of Elephanta as you explore the most important of these temples dedicated to the Hindu sun god, Shiva.
The immense carvings covering the temple walls tell various stories from the life of Shiva, and the island's most impressive sight is undoubtedly the central statue of three-headed deity, representing the god's three aspects: as creator, protector, and destroyer.
Once you've made the most of your time on the island, we'll drop you off at the pickup point about 4 hours after pickup.
