Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and head to the National Theatre Mostar, where we'll start this guided tour of Mostar. Ready to learn about the blend of Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian, and Yugoslavian influences reflected in the city's architecture?
We'll start our tour by visiting Šantićeva Street, an important site, as it was a battlefield during the Bosnian War. We'll also pass by the Spanish Square, known for being the meeting point for locals and its cafés and restaurants.
Next, we'll see the Partisan Bridge, a bridge that honors Josip Broz Tito that was built in the socialist Yugoslav era. You'll have the chance to admire the Karađoz Bey Mosque, a prime example of Ottoman architecture in Bosnia. We'll also visit a traditional Bosnian house from the 16th century. Here, you'll learn about the way of life of the Bosnians during the Ottoman Empire.
Afterward, we'll visit the Museum Of War And Genocide Victims. In this space dedicated to preserving the memory of the people affected by war and genocide, we'll learn about the difficult history of the region.
Our next stop will be at the Synagogue, whose ruins reflect the Jewish history of the city. One of the most anticipated monuments to see is the Stari Most, a true symbol of Mostar. This bridge, rebuilt after its destruction during the war, is famous for its arch and scenic beauty. It's so famous that it's declared a World Heritage Site.
Lastly, we'll admire part of the city's ancient walls that mark the entrance to the old town. The last attraction we'll see is the Kriva Ćuprija, known as the “crooked bridge,” the first bridge built in Mostar.
After a total of 3 hours on this guided tour, we'll conclude our tour at the initial meeting point.
