Sergiev Posad & Russian Banya Day Trip
Sergiev Posad & Russian Banya Day Trip
We'll meet at 10 am in the centre of Moscow and set off in a minibus to the beautiful town of Sergeyev Posad. After an hour's drive, we'll arrive at this so-called spiritual centre of the Russian Orthodox Church, a city that houses some of the most important religious monuments in Russia.
We'll visit the famous Trinity Lavra St. Sergius Monastery, considered to be "The Russian Vatican" and spend an hour and a half exploring the different buildings that make up the complex, such as the magnificent Cathedral.
Afterwards we'll set off for our next stop: a banya, the traditional Russian spa. Here, as well as relaxing, Russians often socialise by eating and drinking with friends. We'll learn all about this custom as we enjoy the hot and cold baths, and you'll even take a dip in an icy lake! We'll spend three hours in the banya and at 4 pm you'll enjoy a delicious meal including three traditional dishes accompanied by drinks.
At the end of the trip, we'll head back to Moscow at 6 pm to drop you off at your hotel or the meeting point.
