At 10 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Morelia and head to Teremendo de los Reyes.
Exploring this town, we'll learn about its Purepecha roots and its foundation by Bishop Vasco de Quiroga. We'll visit the Church of the Holy Kings and admire its bell tower while we learn about the great festivity that takes place every 6th of January in honour of the Three Wise Men.
We'll stroll through Teremendo de los Reyes' narrow streets lined with small houses built from adobe and tile, before going to an artisan bakery where we'll see the traditional way of making bread in the area.
You'll then have an hour of free time to get some lunch. Afterwards, we'll set off on a 20-minute walk to the Alberca de Morelia, one of the three volcanic lakes of Michoacán.
We'll hear all about the origins of this volcanic crater lake as we contemplate the white sapote trees, ash trees, cactus and oaks surrounding it. Did you know that, depending on the time of year, the water colour changes from dark brown to emerald green?
Finally, we'll make our way back to Morelia, where we are expected to arrive at your hotel at 6 pm.
