Discover why Morelia is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as you wander its narrow streets full of colonial architecture on a private tour just for you and your partner, family or friends.
Private Tour of Morelia
When booking your private tour of Morelia, you can choose from the following options:
Walking Tour of Morelia (2 hours)
We'll meet at the time of your choice on Avenida Francisco I. Madero, where we'll start our private walking tour of Morelia. We'll walk through the historic centre of the city to see some of its colonial architecture, including the Cathedral of the Transfiguración del Señor de Morelia, a beautiful baroque building of pink stone that has become the symbol of the town.
Afterwards, we'll see the University of Morelia, built on the site of a former convent, before stopping in front of a building with pink stone arches dating from 1743: the Conservatory of Las Rosas. We'll then visit the Morelos Birthplace Museum, where we'll review the history of one of the heroes of Mexican Independence. We'll end the tour at this last point.
Tour of Morelia & Capula (6 hours)
We'll pick you up from your hotel at 10 am and follow the same itinerary as in the previous tour of Morelia. Afterwards, you'll have two hours of free time for lunch and then we'll head towards Capula.
Arriving in Capula, we'll discover one of the town's most famous creations: the Catrina, or cartoon skeleton, made of clay, a symbol of Day of the Dead. After admiring one of these giant figures, we'll enter a pottery workshop where we'll get to see these magnificent works of art up close. Note their wide-brimmed hats, period costumes and lots of flowers! You'll even have the opportunity to decorate a Catrina as you wish and take it home as a souvenir.
After six hours of sightseeing, you'll be on your way back to Morelia, where you are expected to arrive at your hotel at 5 pm.
