Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe & Lake Camécuaro Tour
After picking you up from your hotel in Morelia at 7 am, we'll set off for Lake Camécuaro.
There, you'll have three hours of free time to enjoy this beautiful lake surrounded by junipers, oak trees, bushes and conifers. If you're feeling hot, you can take a refreshing swim in its crystal clear waters. This region was once inhabited by the Purepecha people, and legend has it that the lagoon was formed by the tears of the princess Huanita!
After enjoying the lake, we'll drive to Zamora de Hidalgo, where you'll have an hour of free time. We'll then take a tour of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe and admire its impressive twin towers, which at more than 100 metres tall make this the tallest church building in Mexico.
As we tour this beautiful neo-Gothic cathedral, we'll notice the three pointed arches that crown its façade. Inside, we'll discover its eight chapels, the delicate transept vault and the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
The tour will end back at your hotel in Morelia at 5 pm.
