Experience Monument Valley under starlit or moonlit skies. Enjoy breathtaking views, night photography, and traditional music on this unique tour.

Tour Options

Visit Monument Valley after dark and witness one of the clearest night skies when you join us for a stargazing or moonlight tour! Situated on the Arizona-Utah border, this iconic landscape holds deep cultural significance for the Navajo people. And after dark, the true wonder of Monument Valley is revealed with a sprawling, clear, star-studded sky.

Below, you can check out the details of each tour—both meet at The View Hotel lobby and include a local Navajo guide, who will provide cultural insights and photography tips as we traverse the valley.

Stargazing Tour

At the indicated time, we'll set off in our vehicle towards our first observation point in Monument Valley. This tour is only available when the moon isn't full, avoiding light pollution, so we can get the most stunning views of the starry night sky.

Throughout our route, we'll make 3 to 4 different stops ideal for stargazing. As we approach spots like Forrest Gump Hill or Teardrop Arch we'll quickly see how the stunning rock formations are lit up under brilliant starlight, thanks to its remote location, away from light pollution.

Along the way, our guide will show us how to use a telescope and give us some photography tips on how to capture the perfect night sky shot. And to top it all off, throughout our route, we'll enjoy an authentic Navajo music performance!

Then, after 3 hours, we'll return to the meeting point, bringing the tour to an end.

Moonlight Tour

When opting for this tour, get ready to experience Monument Valley in a whole new light—moonlight! This tour is only available on the days when the moon is at its fullest, ensuring optimal visibility of the desert scenery.

We'll meet at the indicated time and venture out into the desert as the full or nearly full moon rises over the iconic sandstone buttes and mesas. Thanks to Monument Valley's remote location, the lunar glow will bathe the landscape in a soft light, creating an unforgettable ambiance.

On this tour, we'll hit up 3 to 4 of the best viewpoints, like Forrest Gump Hill or Teardrop Arch, where our local guide will point out the dramatic shapes and shadows of the valley's geological wonders. They'll also show us how to use a telescope, in addition to more night photography tips.

Next, we'll enjoy a traditional music performance from our guide, before bringing our tour to an end at the meeting point, 3 hours later.
